Auckland-based folk band, Big Sur have released their debut EP Black Mountain across all streaming platforms. Formed in April 2023, the band features singer-songwriter Niamh Pritchard, Hugo Butler, Tane Moore, Rocky Parsons, and Evie Bamford. Weaving rich musical textures into haunting folk ballads, Big Sur evoke Celtic myths while expressing a deep connection to Aotearoa, blending old-world mystique with the spirit of the land of the long white cloud.
Black Mountain was produced, recorded, and mastered by Graham Bennett, known for his work on the iconic 1992 recording of Portland's punk band Dead Moon.
