Bridges goes bold with new indie-pop anthem ‘Close To You’

Rising  indie-pop artist Bridges returns with her boldest track yet — ‘Close To You’, out today. The expansive new single marks a confident sonic shift ahead of her sophomore EP, leaning into cinematic drama and darker pop textures.

“It’s the kind of music I’ve always wanted to make,” says Bridges. “Close To You signifies the beginning of that.”

Produced by UK’s Roberto Panovski and mastered by Grammy-winner Chris Gehringer (Dua Lipa, Harry Styles), the track explores the nuance of romantic love through small, intimate moments. The release is paired with a dreamy studio-set video by NZ director Tom Grut, complete with butterflies, grass, and a motorcycle — brought to life through visual effects.

Following her 2023 debut EP TWENTY SOMETHING, Bridges continues to cement her place as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting emerging artists.
