Acclaimed singer-songwriter Charlotte Yates releases Winter’s Eye, a seven-track EP co-produced with Brooke Singer of French for Rabbits. The collection blends Yates’ evocative songwriting with layered synths, piano, and backing vocals from Singer.
Recorded in Wellington, the EP features a cast of celebrated local musicians including Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (drums), Phoebe Johnson (bass), Elliot Vaughan (viola), and Wayne Mason MNZM (backing vocals). Mixing is handled by Lee Prebble at The Surgery, bringing warmth and clarity to the sound.
The cover features a detail from Tonight In the Mystic Garden by renowned New Zealand artist Elizabeth Thomson, adding a vivid visual dimension to the project.
Winter’s Eye is available both digitally and as a physical release — a reflective, collaborative work that captures the quiet intensity of the colder seasons.
