Auckland based alt-folk artist Greta O’Leary has released her new single and music video for 'Baby I’m a Singer', a lush blend of vivid imagery, haunting strings, and stark vocals. The song reflects on the challenges of being an artist in a fast-paced, capitalist world, where creativity often takes a backseat to the hustle.
Greta explores themes of identity, embracing her unique qualities—impractical, soft, slow, and deeply creative. “It’s a deep acceptance of my fate as an artist,” she shares.
The track was crafted through collaboration with her mentor Tom Healy, with contributions from musicians like Dave Khan, De Stevens, and Anita Clark. Accompanied by a wintery music video directed by Greta, filmed in the Auckland Domain, Baby I’m a Singer offers a soothing, defiant anthem for the modern creative.
