WEE goes the distance with bold new EP 'FAR'
Malaysian-born, Auckland-based artist WEE (Ka Wee Teong) returns with FAR, a genre-defying three-track EP that marks a new chapter in both his sound and self-expression. Known for blending raw emotional honesty with experimental production, WEE has carved out a distinct space at the intersection of emorap, trap, boombap, and alt-rock.
Originally gaining traction through vlogs and documentaries on YouTube, WEE turned to music in 2020 to process personal trauma. Since then, he’s released multiple EPs and albums, with each project pushing his boundaries further. 2024’s PNG (Pain Never Go) was a deeply personal closing of one chapter - FAR is the bold start of another.
“I thought I was done after PNG,” he says in a behind-the-scenes mini documentary. “But I realized I still love writing music. So I decided to stay in the game, try out different things to see how far I can go.”
FAR is as much about reinvention as it is about freedom. With each track embracing a new sonic and visual identity, the EP is a declaration of possibility from a rising artist who refuses to be boxed in.
Turns out, the limit doesn’t exist.
