Pōneke House Party set to bring Wellington’s wildest night of comedy and music

Wellington is about to host one of the strangest and loudest live events of the year. The NZ International Comedy Festival and NZ Music Month are coming together for Pōneke House Party, a one night collision of comedy, music and chaos at the Opera House on Sunday 17 May.

Co-headlined by Tofiga Fepulea’i and Tami Neilson, the show brings together a wide mix of performers from across Aotearoa’s entertainment scene. James Nokise will host the evening alongside house band The Funkadelics.

The lineup also includes Justine Smith, Michele A’Court, Rhys Mathewson, Wilson Dixon, Karen O’Leary, Samuel Flynn Scott, Luke Buda, LILA JNR and Dropper, with more guests still to be announced.

All profits from the event will go to the Mayoral Flood Relief Fund, supporting communities affected by recent flooding in Te Whanganui a Tara.

The event marks a crossover between two of May’s major cultural fixtures and reflects Wellington’s long connection to music driven comedy and live performance. Pōneke House Party takes place at 6pm on Sunday 17 May at the Opera House in Wellington.

Tickets are available through NZ International Comedy Festival
