Viral New Zealand artist making legitimate career building moves
Verity has one of the strongest social media followings among New Zealand’s new wave of pop and R&B artists.
The Auckland artist gained traction initially online through stripped-back covers. Her content quickly found wide reach and she gained more than 600,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram.
This digital profile has since translated into significant career milestones, including winning the Up & Coming Artist Competition at Jim Beam Homegrown, being selected for SongHubs 2025, performing at Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, and headlining shows in Los Angeles.
Now, Verity is taking it up a notch with the release of her new single “Casual”, in collaboration with rapper Jujulipps.
"I think a lot of people have been in that situation where you keep telling yourself and everyone else it's 'just casual', even though it feels like a real relationship. You're sharing your lives, acting like a couple, but nobody wants to say what it actually is. That's what this song is about - that messy space where it's exciting, addictive and romantic, but also confusing and a little heartbreaking. Writing it in LA with Magnus Bertelsen and Vince Harder was such a fun process, and bringing Jujulipps onto the track felt like the missing piece. We instantly clicked, and I think you can hear that chemistry and honesty throughout the song."
The single is built around pop and R&B production, with verses that draw a line between rap and melody. With a debut album in development, Verity is a fast-building phenomenon shaped by strong online growth and building industry recognition.
