What goes around comes Right Back Around with Hazy Way's latest single
As the saying goes, what goes around comes around. And isn't that the truth. Hidden agendas, gossip and fake friends. Nobody wants them, yet we often find ourselves caught up in the fallout.
Hazy Way place these dynamics front and centre with their latest single Right Back Around. It's a loose garage rock tinged bop that captures a wave of melancholic groove. With textures best described as crunchy and creamy, the track recalls the energy of Aotearoa legends Pluto through a distinct vocal drawl and jangly guitar rhythms built for toe tapping.
Beneath the easygoing sound, sits a sharp observation about trust and consequences. And yet the song doesn't feel bitter. It drifts forward with laid back confidence, letting the rhythm do the heavy lifting while the hooks sink in.
Hazy Way is an Auckland based indie rock project from multi-instrumentalist and producer Adnan Ahmed. With Right Back Around, Ahmed delivers a fresh track that feels familiar yet full of character, proving that some lessons never go out of style. The project performs at Big Fan on June 12 as part of the New Fans programme.
